Texas Dept. of Corrections Says About 6% of Its Inmates Were Illegal Immigrants in 2024

Under a public records request, the Texas Department of Corrections released figures about the number of its inmates who are illegal immigrant or have ICE detainers. Figures show that in 2020, 5.8% of its inmates were illegal immigrants and 6.2% had ICE detainers.
