U.S. Attorney in LA Responds to Riverside County Prop 50 Vote Investigation

A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles said Sunday afternoon, “Prosecuting public corruption and fraud is a priority for this administration.”

This was in response to our inquiry to the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California about whether the office had any concerns or comments about the allegations of voting irregularities in Riverside County during the recent redistricting special election.

According to the Associated Press, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco seized more than half-a-million ballots that were cast in the county in the Proposition 50 special election held in the November 2025. The sheriff asserted there were reported irregularities in the count.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta has criticized Bianco’s investigation, saying it undermined public confidence in elections, the AP reported.

In a video posted on X, Bianco, in turn, criticized the AG saying, ”Rob Bonta wants to shut down that investigation Why? Because he’s not really acting as the top law enforcement official in California. He doesn’t want to get to the truth.”

The FBI did not respond to a request for comment on Sunday.

Recently the FBI seized ballots cast in Fulton County, Georgia, in the 2020 presidential election.
